Photos that work well

Recognisable Australian scenes that help a reader picture the place: a landmark with context, a viewpoint, a street, a coastline. Both bright postcard shots and quieter atmospheric photos are welcome. We particularly need shots of smaller towns and inland areas, since Sydney harbour is already well covered.

Photos we'll have to decline

Stock photos, anything you found online and don't have rights to, photos with watermarks from another site, screenshots, AI-generated images, photos where minors are the main subject, or anything taken outside Australia. Anything illegal in Australia, anything that would identify people who haven't consented to being shared.

Where to host your photo

Anywhere with a stable HTTPS link will do. Flickr (the photo page URL works), Imgur, Google Photos shared link, your own website or blog, or a public Instagram post. Avoid URL shorteners; we need to see the destination. The link must stay live for at least a few days while we review.
