The Whitsundays are the softer, island-focused way to experience Queensland. Instead of basing around a city, most visitors choose Airlie Beach for value and tour choice or Hamilton Island for convenience and resort comfort.

Three nights is a useful minimum. Add more time if you want Whitehaven Beach, a reef trip, and a slow island day without rushing.
