Cottesloe Beach is Perth’s most famous city beach for a reason. It has clear water, a grassy foreshore, sunset views over the Indian Ocean, and easy access from both Perth CBD and Fremantle.

What to do at Cottesloe Beach

  1. Swim when conditions are calm
  2. Watch sunset from the foreshore
  3. Walk the beach path
  4. Have fish and chips or a casual meal nearby
  5. Combine it with Fremantle or Swanbourne

How to get there

Take the Fremantle train line to Cottesloe Station, then walk about 15 minutes to the beach. Driving is easy outside peak summer weekends, but parking can be tight on hot evenings.

Best time to visit

Late afternoon is best for light and sunset. Summer is lively, but spring and autumn are more comfortable for walking and easier parking.
